This Rite reaches out into the community in search of prospective adult candidates for initiation into the Catholic Church. The initiation of candidates takes place in the midst of the community of the faithful. The rite of initiation is suited to the spiritual journey of adults, which varies according to the many forms of God's grace. On this spiritual journey, the candidates are instructed in the faith by an experienced team.

The best place to start is right among the faith-filled families that already have participating members for partners. For example: husband or wife and children are Catholic, spouse is non-Catholic but is already attending the Catholic Church. It is also for any Catholics who have been away from the Church and seek updating in the Faith.

Do you know someone who would like to become a Catholic? Often when a Catholic marries another person who is not Catholic, there are understandable challenges especially in worshipping together in the same church. Sometimes it can be hard to have your children learn about the Catholic faith if you are not going to church as a family. Yet this is an important duty for Catholic parents.

All of our Priests, Deacons, Sisters and many of our laity walk the journey each year with our RCIA candidates. All who walk this journey end in a new and enriched place.
